Verlin Hill, son of the late Abe and Effie Shipman Hill, was born January 14, 1910 in Fisk and died April 2, 1993 in the Dexter Memorial Hospital, at the age of 83.

Mr. Hill was a retired farmer and former owner of a restuarant and gas station in Bloomfield. He was a veteran of World War II and affiliated with the Hill's Church.

Mr. Hill was united in marriage to Lorene Hutchcraft on August 15, 1931 in Dexter. She survives of the home in Bloomfield.

Additional survivors include two sisters, Dottie Wolpers of Bloomfield and Syble Cravens of Dexter, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by one son, Verlin Hill, Jr; two brothers, Clifford Hill and Henry Hill; and three sisters, Myrtle Allison, Cola Singleton and Sylvia Hart.

Visitation was held Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today in the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with Rev. Chester Smith and Rev. Robert Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery Bloomfield, all under the direction of Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter.
