Mrs. Ida Belle Burger Witmer, 93, of 119 W. Third St., widow of David E. Witmer, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at her home. She had been in failing health since April 19 following a heart attack, and critically ill the past two weeks.

Born at Quincy, she was a daughter of the late Gedeon and Lavina (Manges) Burger. Her early life was lived at Quincy, Ephrata, Lancaster County, and State Line.

After her marriage she lived at Beaver Creek, Md., for 17 years and then returned to the Waynesboro area where she and her husband farmed.

In 1946 the family moved to Waynesboro and in 1947 her husband died. After the death of her daughter, Miss Mary L. Witmer in 1954, she and her daughter, Miss Estella, resided in Northumberland for two years, returning in June of 1958.

Mrs. Witmer was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church Home Department of the Sunday School, and a life member of the United Lutheran Church Women.

She is survived by two daughters, Miss Estella B. Witmer at home, Mrs. Paul F. Curfman of Northumberland; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Laura Funk of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Ella B. Nye of Philadelphia, and one brother, the Rev. S. C. Burger of Daytona Beach, Fla.
