Chico Record, Wednesday, December 19, 1917, pg 5 col 2-3: Autoist Skids; Thrown; Skull May Be Fractured. While driving for the Southern Pacific depot yesterday F.A. Tatman of Chico Vecino was seriously injured when his machine skidded against a tree on Fifth street. Tatman was thrown from his car, and is now at the Enloe Hospital. He is believed to be suffering from a fracture of the skull.

Tatman died at the Enloe Hospital. Tatman was injured Tuesday morning, when he car skidded into a tree on Fifth street during a fog. He was removed to Enloe Hospital, and died without regaining consciousness. He is survived by a wife and several sons.
