Alva was the second child and oldest daughter of George Washington Stubbs and Eva Devieze Brashear.
Alva married Luther Monroe Robinson on Sept. 23, 1908. They were married by Liberty County Justice of the Peace Charles Wilson. Monroe and Alva were married 50 years.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alva Edith Robinson, 83, were held January 21, 1976, at 2 p.m. in the Sterling Funeral Chapel with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery, Dayton, Texas.
She passed away January 19, 1976, in the Baytown Medical Center Hospital at 3:20 p.m. A native of Winfree, Chambers County, Mrs. Robinson lived in Dayton 58 years.
Survivors include three sons, Theron Robinson, Raymond "Bill" Robinson, and Oma Robinson, all of Dayton. Three daughters, Mrs. Annie Brooks of Baytown, Mrs. D. K. Dorothy Caldwell of Liberty, and Mrs. Marie Vavrusa of Halletsville. Two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Gresham of Wallisville and Mrs. Ruth Young of Baytown. Eighteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Officiating were: Rev. J. P. Brownlee and Rev. Bobby King.
Pallbearers were J. D. Griffith, Elmer Pruitt, Butch Martin, LaMarr Ritchie, Gary Young, Hal Ladd, Orvel Bode, Mutt Neuman.

Monroe Robinson in 1958; a daughter, Lorena Robinson Johnson in 1973; her two brothers, Roy Stubbs and Reuben Stubbs; and two great-grandchildren, Stephen Mark Walters and Kelly Ann Walters.
