OBITUARY FROM THE LIBERTY VINDICATOR: Dorothy Caldwell
Dorothy E. "Dot" Robinson Caldwell, 86, of Liberty died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Dot was born December 21, 1926 in Dayton, to parents: L. Monroe and Alva E. Stubbs Robinson, and has been a lifelong resident of the Dayton/Liberty area. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1945, a former telephone operator, homemaker, and Baptist by faith. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, Douglas K. "Doug" Caldwell, son-in-law, Mike Roberts, sisters: Annie Brooks and Lorena Johnson, and brothers, Theron, Oma Lee, and Raymond "Bill" Robinson. She is survived by her son: Mike Caldwell and wife Brenda of Daisetta, daughter: Barbara J. Roberts of Crosby; grandchildren: Shawn Caldwell and wife Melody, Chris Roberts, Brandon Caldwell, Stefanie Taylor and husband Brandon, Trevor Caldwell, Kayla Roberts, and Colton Caldwell; great-grandchildren: Colin Roberts, Hunter Caldwell, Brayden Caldwell, Michael Taylor, and Matthew Taylor; sister, Marie Vavrusa of Hallettsville; sister-in-law, Johnnie Robinson of Dayton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Shawn Caldwell, Chris Roberts, Brandon Caldwell, Trevor Caldwell, Colton Caldwell and Brandon Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Colin Roberts, Hunter Caldwell, Brayden Caldwell, Michael Taylor and Matthew Taylor.
