Robert E. Horine, age 76, of Eaton, OH, passed away Saturday morning, December 18, 2010 following an extended illness. Born August 22, 1934 in Eaton, he was a son of the late Alva & Blanche (Deem) Horine. He served in the National Guard from 1952 - 1962: retired from the Delco Moraine Division of General Motors after 30 + yrs. of service: was a member of the Eaton Kiwanis and I.O.O.F.: volunteered with the American Red Cross Diaster Relief Team: and was a member of the Lakengren Card Club. His two favorite places to frequent were The Eaton Place and the Lakengren Farmers Market.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on January 25, 2008 by wife Carrell Sue (Connell) Horine whom he married January 21, 1956: sister Helen Zimmerman: brothers Dwight, Ralph, Ray, Junior and Dale Horine.

Survived by daughter & son-in-law Wanda & Michael Putnam of Minster, OH: son & daughter-in-law Robert & Becky Horine of Eaton: grandchildren Rachel Gilbert-Groff of Troy, OH; Shannon Horine-Ward of Eaton; Shawn Horine of Eaton; and Amanda Horine of Vandalia, OH: great grandchildren Quinlyn and Christopher: sisters Mary Tingle-Davenport of Duncanville, TX; Thelma Agne of Battle Creek, MI; Jean Dehart of Eaton; Doris Clarl of Eaton; and Jan Schultz of Palmetto, FL.

Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 11:00 AM Tuesday with Pastor Lowell T. Spencer presiding.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Interment Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
