RALPH L. HORINE, age 89, of Eaton, Ohio died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at his residence. Born on March 19, 1917 in Hamburg, Ohio he was the son of the late Alva B. & L. Blanche Deem Horine. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in Troop E, 14th Constabulary Squadron and was part of a group that helped track down Nazi War Criminal's for the Nuremberg War Crime Trials after the war. He retired from Frigidaire after 33 years as a Tool Maker. Life Member of the International Union of Electrical, Radio, & Machine Workers Local #801; 61 year member of the St. Clair Post 215 American Legion of Eaton, Ohio; 50 year member of the Eaton Country Club. Ralph volunteered for the American Red Cross and helped Xenia during the 1974 Tornado Disaster; Boliver Lodge #82 F & AM of Eaton, Ohio; Member of the Eldorado Universalist Church of Eldorado, Ohio. Ralph was an avid fisherman, trapper, game hunter, and mushroom hunter. Preceded in death by his wife: Ruth O. Horine in 1996; brothers: Dwight Horine, Raymond Horine, Dale Horine, and Alva Horine, Jr.

Survived by his daughters & sons-in-law: Linda & Arlen Aukerman of Eaton, Ohio and Dawn & Vaughn Call of Camden, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law: Robert & Carrel Horine of Eaton, Ohio; sisters & brothers-in-law: Helen Zimmerman, Jean Dehart, Doris "Dot" & Raymond Clark all of Eaton, Ohio, Thelma Agne of Battlecreek, Michigan, Mary Alice Davenport of Dunkenville, Texas, and Joan & Hayden Schultz of Palento, Florida; grandchildren: Robin & Eric Worley of Eaton, Ohio and Thomas Aukerman of Stevensville, Michigan; great grandchildren: Kira Worley Smith, Brandon Worley, Kaitlyn Worley, Riley Aukerman, and Logan Aukerman; great great granddaughter: Mykenzie Smith; special friend: Wanda Hindsley of Eaton, Ohio; vaious nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Donne Hayden officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home with Masonic Lodge services at 11:45 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
