Died- Luddy- In this city (Waterbury), September 11/1915, Mrs. Hannah B. Luddy
Obituary- Luddy- Mrs. Hannah B. Luddy, one of the oldest and highly respected
Irish residents died at her home, 85 Charles Street, Saturday night after a
short illness.
Mrs. Luddy came to this city from Ireland when Waterbury was just
beginning to grow, and settled in the Brooklyn district. She watched with
interest the section grown and delighted in speaking of its rapid growth in
relation to the expansion of this city.
Mrs. Luddy, was a pioneer Irish resident in this city, always enjoyed
talking about the Emerald Isle. She was a quiet, kind and sympathetic woman
and commanded the respect of a large acquaintance.
She was one of the first parishioners at St. Patrick's church. She is
survived by eleven children; Thomas, Timothy, Peter, John, Mrs. John F.
Gorman, Mrs. Margaret Mitchell, Mrs. Morgan T. Burke, Miss Nora, Miss Anna,
all of this city and William of Bridgeport and Patrick of Ansonia.
