MAHAFFEY -- Louise M. Henry-Heaps, 78, of Mahaffey RD, died Saturday, June 30, 2001 at the home of her son in Newmanstown.
Born Feb. 18, 1923 in Curry Run, she was a daughter of the late Otis and Vada (Johnson) Lines.
She owned and operated Dutch's Restaurant in Grampian from 1946-1950 when she moved to Ontario, Canada, where she and her husband built and operated Dutch's Lodge, a hunting and fishing business, until his death in February 1956.
She was an assembly worker at Cameron Manufacturing in Reynoldsville from 1951-1961. She moved to Lancaster in 1961 where she was a waitress at Stock Yard Inn until 1966. In 1985 she retured from Hamilton Technology of Lancaster where she was employed since 1966.
She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church and the electric workers union.
On Oct. 12, 1940, she wed Clair "Dutch" Henry, who died in 1956. On Jan. 31, 1970, she wed Melvin E. Heaps, who preceded her in death in 1999.
Ms. Henry-Heaps is survived by two sons, Dennis R. Henry and his wife Ellen, of Newmanstown and Melvin J. Henry of Lancaster; a daughter Arashay C. and her husband, Robert, of Lancaster; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, William LInes and his wife, Marion, of Grampian; three sisters, Esther Derrick and her husband, Rex, of Curry Run; Nellie Clyde and her husband, Theodore, of Curry Run and Marian Wall of Clarion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Joseph D. Lines, Robert G. Lines and Richard R. Lines; and a sister, Josephine A. Saxe.
Graveside services weill be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Friends Cemetery with Rev. Gordon Snyder officiating. There will be no public visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
