BENJAMIN F. BARBER
Benjamin Franklin Barber, who was a resident of Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa, who was a resident practically all of the forty-six years of his life, died Saturday morning, June 3, 1928 at 3 o'clock at the home of his father W. C. Barber, his death resulting from tuberculosis. He had been ill for the last year.
He was born in Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa on June 8, 1881, and was 46 years old at his death. He was married to Miss Inca May Beard on March 15, 1904, and to this union six children were born, two of whom are deceased. Those who survive are Kenneth, Mildred, Mary, and Robert. The wife and mother died March 22, 1921.
Mr. Barber was engaged in the barbering business in Villisca twenty-two years. Besides his children and his father, he leaves also four brothers and three sisters. They are Wm. Barber and Mrs. J. M. Sheriday of Villisca, Iowa, Mrs. Robert Gourley of northwest of this city, A. A. barber of Bedford, Claude Barber of Chadron, Nebraska, Clifford Barber of Newell, south Dakota, and Mrs. Fred Teas, Fremont, Nebraska.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the A. B. Wolfe Funeral Home, with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge of service. The singing was by Mr. and Mrs. Albert F. Davie, and the pallbearers were Frank Umphress, Chas. Sweeten, Crawford Sawyer, Fred Parcher, H. H. Nordyke, and Walter Poston. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
Those here from a distance to attend the funeral was Mrs. Fred Teas, Fremont, A. A. Barber, of Bedford, Nebraska, A. A. Barber of Bedford, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Maher of Atlantic and Claude beard and son Paul of Clarinda.
