Susan died at home in Crystal Plains, Smith County, Kansas.
Marriage;30 Dec 1858, Sangamon County, Illinois to John Nelson Strode & had 5 children.
Marriage; 12 Feb 1872, Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois to Thomas Clark & had 2 daughters.
OBITUARY;
Mrs Susan A. Clark passed away at her home in Crystal Plains, Ks last Monday morning, aged 82 yrs. She had been suffered from the disabilities of which advanced age is heir for several months. The serious illness was of the last three weeks. The funeral service were held at the Methodist church at this place Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Dr Housel of this place and Rev Grimes, M.P. pastor at Harlan, and the remains laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs Susan Clark was the mother of eight children, six of whom are still living...Mrs Will Stinson; Oatis, Arkansas, Robert Strode; Riverton, Illinois, Henry Strode; Smith Center, Ks, Mrs George Hammond; Smith Center, Ks, Mrs Ben Prosser; Smith Center, Ks.and Mrs James Frost; Smith Center, Ks. The husband also survives her.
The family came to Smith County, Kansas in 1875 and settled on the homestead where they have lived ever since.
Deceased was born in Kentucky, the marriage to Thomas Clark was in 1872. Grandma Clark, as everyone knew her, was a christian woman and a kind neighbors and friends. Her untimely death is a severe loss to the members of the family and it is as an individual loss to those who knew her so well and loved her for the many womanly qualitie. The family ask The Journal to express the deep feeling of appreciation for the many kind acts of the neighbors during the sad hours of sickness and death.

Note; This obituary is very simple, it did not say much more about Susan's whole life, what town in Kentucky that she was born in, her parents' names.
During Susan's widowed years, she worked as Seamstress until she married Thomas Clark.
In Obituary stated that Susan was mother of 8 children, which I think it was error as far as I know that she was mother of 7 children.
