Emmett Kerr Firebaugh died at his home near Lexington on Sunday at 6 a.m. He was born in Rockbridge county on April 10, 1870, a son of the late Robert Dunlap Firebaugh of Rockbridge and Saran Anne Clemmer of Middlebrook. He was a carpenter by trade and had lived most of his life in Rockbridge.
Funeral services were held from the grave in Bethesda cemetery at Rockbridge Baths on Monday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. S.G. Harness and Rev. L.E. Bouknight were the officiating pastors.
Surviving are three sons: W.R. Firebaugh, Lexington; C.C. Firebaugh and A.B. Firebaugh, Baltimore; three daughters Mrs. Marie Carmine of Baltimore; Mrs. Eleanor McCurdy and Mrs. Pearl Sensabaugh both of Rockbridge Baths. Two brothers and one sister also survive, J.G. Firebaugh, Fairfield; Rev. R.M. Firebaugh, Hugo, Okla.; Mrs. T.E. Copper, Lexington.
