COVINA HILLS, Calif. — Graveside services for B.T. Austin, 96, of West Covina, Calif., were held Feb. 20 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

He died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002.

He was born Feb. 11, 1906, in O'Brien and was a longtime resident of Lubbock and Lamb counties. He was a farmer and ginner in Sudan.

A son, William Norris, died in 1991 and a daughter, Roberta Kay, died in 1992.

Survivors include two sons, B.T. Jr. of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Bob of Glendora, Calif.; a daughter, Deanne Penney of Memphis; seven brothers, George, Russell and Donal, all of Lubbock, W.A. of Sugar Land, Partin of Osceola, Mo., Guy of Farwell and Donis of Houston; three sisters, Margaret Watts of Phoenix, Ariz., Emma Powell of Levelland and Maretta Houlette of El Paso; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
