Partin Austin was born May 25, 1919 in Richland, New Mexico to William Anderson and Nellie Partin Austin. He passed away June 6, 2016 in Arlington, Texas.

He attended school in Lubbock, Texas. Partin accepted the Lord as his Savior as a child and attended church regularly wherever he lived. He married Wilma Smith on December 19, 1937 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This union was blessed with two daughters, Marilyn and Sherri.

During WWII Partin worked in an aircraft factory in San Diego, California. After the war was over, he moved his family back to Farwell, Texas where he farmed and later owned a bowling alley. In January of 1965 he and Wilma moved to Osceola, Missouri where he was a rancher and businessman. Partin was the Mayor of Osceola in the early 1980’s.

His beloved wife Wilma passed away in 2002, after 64 years of marriage. In 2003, Partin married Norma Davault and moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma, Norma passed away in 2014 after 11 years of marriage.

Partin had a love for country western dancing and a joy for traveling and visiting with family. You could always find him being “Grandad the handyman” as he was proficient at anything he was asked to do.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Nellie; his wife, Wilma; his wife Norma; eight Austin brothers, Cecil, B.T., W.A. Jr., Guy, Russell, George, Alvin, and C.P. and five sister, Serena Johnston, Margaret Watts, Viola Walker, Mareta Houlette, and Emma Powell.

Partin is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Dean) Jones of Osceola, Missouri and Sherri (Glenn) Phipps of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren, Brent (Uwana) Jones of Osceola, Missouri, Kyle Jone of Springfield, Missouri, Keri Goodbrake of Osceola, Missouri, Jeff (Lindy) Phipps of Arlington, Texas, Marne Phipps of Arlington, Texas, Chad (Laura) Phipps of Scottsdale, Arizona; eight great-grandchildren, Brenden (Billie) Jones, Olivia (Ty) Cumle, Reed and Rachel Goodbrake, Colby and Gavin Phipps, Audrey nd Lila Phipps; four great-great-grandchildren, Brantley and Brylin (Due in July) Jones and Oakley and Trig Cumley; two brothers, Donal Austin of Lubbock, Texas and Donis (Mozelle) Austin of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
