Six Children, One Brother and Three Sisters Survive---
Funeral Services Thursday
At 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, Mrs. Martha A. Pickens, wife of John C. Pickens, passed peacefully away at the family residence on Ridge avenue.
The deceased was in her 70th year and has resided for the greater part of her long and useful life in this city. She was an estimable Christian woman of many virtues and a host of friends are left to mourn the death.
Besides the sorrowing husband there are left to mourn the death six children, one brother and three sisters. The children are Mrs. Noah Gochenaur, Mt. Summit, Ind.; Mrs. S. A. Weller, of this city; Mrs. George L. Westall, Roy, Pa.; Miss Elzetta Pickens of the home; William R. Pickens and Edward L. Pickens; the brother, Louis W. Odem, Greentown, Pa., and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Pierson, New Castle, Ind.; Mrs. James Clark, Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Charles Strong, of Greentown, Pa.
The funeral services will be held at the residence at 1:30 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, Rev. A. M. Courtenay will conduct the obsequies. Interment will be made at Greenwood cemetery.
