On Jan. 24, 1942, a child was born to Curtis and Willie Mae (Lazenby) Buyckes. They named her Earlene Patrice Buyckes. She was the seventh of nine children.

Her early education was in Coweta, OK. She attended High School in Tulsa, graduating from Booker T. Washington in 1960. In, 1961, she married Franklin Brice. Within this union four children were born. One whom preceded her in death. In 1977 she joined St. Andrew Baptist Church and remained a member until death.

Earlene taugh sign language to her children and children at the daycare. She also was a translator for the deaf at St. John's Hospital and the congregation at St. Andrew Baptist Church.

In addition to her child, parents and siblings that preceded her in death. (Rosalee Buyckes, Clarence Buyckes, Ellen Jones, Frank Buyckes and Ruben Buyckes) One brother Scott Buyckes past two days later. Earlene will be remebered and cherished by her husband, Franklin Brice; son
and daughter-in-law, Charles & Idella Brice; daughter and son-in-law, Monica & Tommy Prear; son, Derrick Brice; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Buyckes and Marie Galloway all of Tulsa. Special memories will be kept by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
