Willie Mae Lazenby was born in Glendflora, TX to Mr & Mrs. Johnny Lazenby on Jan. 10, 1905. She was the youngest of five children. Her parents died when she was a little baby & she grew up with her brother Johnny Lazenby. Later they move from Glendflora Texas to Houston, Texas, then to Coweta, OK in 1919. She attended the May Flower school west of Coweta. Later she met and married the late
Curtis Henry Buyckes in 1925. To them nine children were born. Four boys and five girls, two of them precede her in death. She departed this life Jan. 7, 1981. Three sons Scott Buyckes, Tulsa, OK; Frank Samuel Buyckes, Houston, TX & Ruben H. Buyckes, Tulsa. Four daughters Mrs. Ellen O. Williams, Miss Katie D. Buyckes, Mrs. Earlene P. Brice & Ms. Marie Jamerson. Forty grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren.
