"A Life worth Celebrating" In the beginning in the small town of Coweta, OK on June 5, 1944, the last of nine children was born to the proud parents of Curtis & Willie Mae (Lazenby) Buyckes. A beautiful baby they appropriately name Marie which means "Beauty and Grace". Marie attended grade school in Coweta prior to the family moving to Tulsa, OK, where she completed her education at Booker T. Washington High School. While in Tulsa, she became the loving and devoted mother of three children while maintaining employment as a machinist from Burtek Inc. and retiring from McDonnell Douglass. After her retirement, she enjoyed giving her time as a caregiver to everyone she encountered including family and friends. Marie enjoyed cooking, entertaining and celebrating life. She never knew a stranger. Marie attended Cornerstone Baptist Church and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Marie has reunited in heaven with her mother, father, and seven siblings that preceded her in death. Marie's memories will be cherished by son Winfred L. Carroll Jr., daughter RaDonna M. Mason (Tony), son Robert L. Buyckes and her grandchildren Lekeisha Carroll, Micah Mason, LeVonne' Buyckes, Tai Mason, Anthony Mason II, DeVoute' Buyckes, TreVonte' Buyckes, and great grandchildren Markesha Carroll, and Marquay Caroll all of Tulsa, OK. She also leaves one sister Katie D. Buyckes, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors and special friends. Marie was known to many for many things; such as her ability to bring people together and make them feel as if they are the most special person in the world. Heaven has received the gift of life it gave to us 66 years ago. She will be greatly missed by all who experienced the life and love she gave.
