Military Service: Solomon was in the War of 1812, enlisted as Private in Captain Andrew Lawson Company, Colonel William Johnson's Regiment East Tennessee. Drafted Militia. Due to illness, he was discharged early, illness plagued him the remainder of his life. He was a stone mason and farmer.

March 30, 1797, Washington County, Tennessee, he married Mary Ann Bayless, 1778-1820, she is buried at Cherokee Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington County, Tennessee. They were the parents of 11 children.

Howard on November 6, 1894. They were both buried at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, Washington County, Tennessee., Adam died fighting in the civil war, CSA Pvt. 19th Regiment Tennessee Infantry Co B, died Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.
3. William Isles Brown, married Melvina Loyd, moved to Kentucky.
4. John M. Brown, married Eliza Jane Sams, they moved from Unicoi County, Tennessee to Madison County, North Carolina.
