Nicholas Jackson Brown was the first son born to Solomon Brown and Elizabeth Carriger Brown. Nicholas married Nancy Anne Blakley on August 15, 1844 in Washington County, Tennessee.Nicholas Jackson was still living when they took the census on June 25, 1880 in Edmonson County, Kentucky. They were the parents of 8 children. 1. Elizabeth A. "Becky" or "Bettie" Brown, married Peter K. Ratherford, have seen it spelled Rutherford. 2. John Brown, born 1848. 3. Mahal Dee Brown, married Anderson Jobe Johnson. 4. Martha J. Brown, born Abt. 1852. 5. Mary Malissa Brown, married Harrison White. 6. Margaret L. Brown, married J. W. Ashford. 7. Charity Tennessee Brown, married James H. Johnson, buried at Spillman Cemetery, Edmonson County, Kentucky. 8. James J. Brown, married Dora Jane Skaggs.

Brown, 1824, died 1860, Hamilton County, Tennessee. (Civil War). 3. William Isles Brown, about 1828, died Monroe County, Kentucky, married Melvina Loyd. 4. John M. Brown, 6-8-1836 - 7-21-1902, married Eliza Jane Sams. Have not found the Cemetery Nicholas Jackson Brown or his wife Nancy Anne Blakley Brown are buried in Edmonson County, Kentucky.
