William J. Armstrong 1875-1949
William Armstrong was born on January 18, 1875 in Oakdale, Minnesota, the son of James and Ellen Raleigh Armstrong. He came with his parents to the Greenvale community in 1889. Here he continued to make his home following the occupation of a farmer until he moved to Northfield in 1919 and he since has resided here, with the exception of a few winters spent in Texas and one year in Alaska. Mr. Armstrong never married.
