Margaret Ellen Armstrong Mulligan 1870-1953

After five weeks serious illness, Mrs. Margaret Mulligan died Thursday, September 3, at Northfield hospital as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was nearly 83.
The funeral service was held at 9; 30 a.m. Saturday September 5,in the Church of the Annunciation in Hazelwood. The Rev. W.Leo Howley, pastor, of the Church of St. Dominic, Northfield, officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery with Frank Langer, Philip Hendricks, John Mahowald, James Kennedy, John Moravec and Felix Blesener as pallbearers.
Margaret Ellen Armstrong was born October 28, 1870 at Oakdale, Washington County, Minnesota. She came to Greenvale community with her parents in 1888.
On June 9, 1889, she was married in Northfield to Patrick Mulligan. He died in 1926. After living in Greenvale community for many years, she moved into the city of Northfield in 1940, in recent years she has lived with her sister, Miss Helen Armstrong.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Dickson and Mrs. Frank Long (Anna Rose) of Northfield; six sons, John and Bloss of St. Paul, Leon and Mozart of Northfield, James of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Milton of Anchorage, Alaska. There are also 23 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren, and sister Miss Helen Armstrong.
All of Mrs. Mulligan's living children were present at the funeral.
