Malinda was the daughter of Mary Polly Roten (1816 – 1905) and Andrew Jackson Akers (1808 – 1878). Polly Roten had been a Bond Servant of Mr. Akers...never his wife. See Death Certificate # 22415. Malinda and her sister, Elizabeth, married brothers who were the sons of Rhodes "Big Rhodes" Meade (1804 – 1865) and Sarah "Sally" Richardson (1808 – 1852). Malinda married Robert A. Mead in 1865 in Floyd Co., Kentucky. Her sister, Elizabeth, married McDonald "Mack" Mead in 1865 in Kentucky. Elizabeth is buried in Brushy Cemetery, Cole Camp, Benton County, Mo. Find A Grave Memorial# 9008966.
