Hobart was the son of Claude and Ada (Cresse) Young of Cape May County, NJ. He graduated from Millville, New Jersey High School, (Millville, where his father was a glass blower at Wheaton Glass), and the Mount Hermon Schools in Massachusetts. He associated with the Burroughs Corporation as a young man, served as General Representative in the West Chester, PA area and in later years specialized in bank accounting equipment and the corporation's national accounts. He and his wife, Grace (Houck) Young lived in Norristown and Scotch Bonnet, PA. They had no children. After serving thirty-nine years, he retired in 1957 and became a resident of Riveria Beach, Florida with his wife. He was a ardent fisherman and enjoyed boating. During WWI he served in the Navy. Hobart and Grace's headstone is at the Baptist Church but I think they are buried in FL.
