The Traer community lost another beloved young wife, mother and friend Sunday morning when Mrs. Peter L. Wilson passed away at her home south west of town. Death came after an illness of a little more than two weeks of pneumonia, following the birth of a son a few days before. She put up a remarkable fight for life. Thursday morning of last week her condition seemed considerably improved but changed for the worse the next day. She was unconscious throughout the last week of her illness. Mrs. Wilson was twenty-eight years old. She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Stoakes, of Traer, born at Randolph, Nebraska January 3, 1892.

She came with her parents to Traer October 11, 1902. She was a graduate of the Traer high school of the class of 1909. For five years she taught school. On February 9, 1910, she was united in marriage to Peter L. Wilson. Since their marriage the couple have farmed southwest of Traer. Mrs. Wilson was one of the most popular, capable and energetic young women of the Traer community, beloved by all who knew her. She was prominent in church and social work. She became a member of the Congregational church in Traer on April 3, 1905 and was active in the work of the Sunday school and Christian Endeavor society. After her marriage and removal to the farm she affiliated with the Tranquillity church, where she was a ready and willing helper. She was a member of the local Pythian Sisters lodge. The husband and infant son, Evan Stoakes Wilson, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Stoakes, are left. The sympathy of the entire community goes to them.

The funeral services were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church in Traer. Rev. A. W. Milos in charge. The church was filled with friends, many from miles around. The members of the Pythian lodge attended in a body. Burial was in Buckingham cemetery.
