William Charles Cook was born the son of Enos Cook and Elizabeth Marie Peyton. They are buried in this cemetery. They were parents of five children: Malvina Jessie Cook married Leslie Ellsworth Steele and is buried in Oakdale Memorial Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa; Carl Enos Cook buried this cemetery; Martin Henry Cook married Berneta Josephine Takes and is buried in Conception Catholic Cemetery at Castle Grove, Iowa; Robert Frank Cook buried this cemetery; Walter Herman Cook buried this cemetery.

In a letter from our Highland correspondent received too late for publication in the last issue, was the following notice: Married at the court house in Marion, Tuesday, November 20, Miss Mary Mette and Mr. Will Cook. These young people well known and highly respected, and they carry with them to their new home the best wishes of the community.

~0bit~William Cook, farmer east of Troy Mills, died at the People's Hospital Tuesday night. Death came after only two days illness of blood poisoning and diabetes. Mr. Cook, was the son of Enos and Elizabeth Cook, and was born on a farm south of Troy Mills, in 1869. He was one of a family of eleven children. Besides his widow, he is survived by five children, Carl Cook of Chicago, Mrs. Leslie Steele of Cedar Rapids, Martin, Robert and Walter at home. Three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Mabel Hull of Mitchell, Nebraska, Mrs. Cora Kelso of Paris, Iowa, Mrs. Gladys Chester of Troy Mills, Lorenzo Cook of Central City, Frank Cook of Cedar Rapids, and three grandsons. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church held on Thursday afternoon, the Rev. W. Craig Tenny, in charge. Mrs. Dorothy Sauer and Miss Beatrice Wheeler sang, with Mrs. Lois McKee at the piano. Pall bearers were his three sons and three brothers, Lorenzo, John, Frank, Carl, Martin, Walter and Robert Cook. Burial was at the Troy Mills Cemetery. Relatives from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schug, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jensen and their son and daughter of Strawberry Point, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Steele and sons, Mr. and Mrs. George Price, Clarence Gill, Joseph Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Farol Cline, Frank Cook, Mr. and Mrs. David Saxton of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Cora Kelso and family of Paris, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Keller and daughter of Independence, Mrs. Florence Price and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Wilson, Lorenzo Cook, of Central City, Mr. and Mrs. John Cook and son of Center Point, Miss Anna Mette, Mr. and Mrs. Moses Mette of Walker.
