~0bit~Troy Mills-Funeral services for Mrs. Ross Chester, 43, were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church here, with the Rev. J.Q. Robinson of Gladbrook, a former pastor in charge. Music was furnished by the McKnight sisters of Walker. Pallbearers were Paul Wilson, Jess Pugh, Otis McPike, Ray Carson, Carl Walton and Oakley Powell. The Eastern Star had charge of the services at the grave. Burial was in the Troy Mills Cemetery. Gladys Cook Chester was born June 9, 1889, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Enos Cook, on a farm south of Troy Mills, where she lived until her marriage to Ross Chester on September 3, 1913. The rest of her life was spent at her home in Troy Mills where she died suddenly Wednesday morning. She is survived by her husband and children: Helen, Delmar Cook Chester, Virgil, Carl and Edward of Troy Mills, two sisters: Mrs. Cora Kelso of Paris, Mrs. Mabel Frank of Hasting's, Nebraska, three brothers, Lorenzo Cook of Central City, John Cook of Alice, Frank Cook of Cedar Rapids. Two children, Betty Jean and Norman Chester preceded her in death.
