Nathan G. Howard, one of the older residents of the town, died late Sunday night at his home, No. 20 Elm street. He had been ill for less than a week and attended church as usual a week ago yesterday. His age was 86 years.
Mr. Howard was born in Rutland and always lived here, following for many years the trade of painter. He was a devout Christian and had been largely identified with religious work for a period of 50 years. At the time of his death he was a member of the Congregational church.
He left a widow and two children, J.N. Howard of Rutland and Mrs. J.D.F. Brackett of Kansas City. The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at the house, Rev. Dr. Phillips officiating.
