Sad Death of Little Frank Cox
Burns received yesterday morning from a bonfire of dry leaves caused the death last night of Frank Cox, the 2-year old son of Harry Cox, a foreman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, at 726 Armstrong Avenue, Kansas City, Kas. No one was present when the child fell in the fire.
The above appeared in Monday's Kansas City Star. The remains were brought here Monday night for burial in Fairview cemetery. Funeral was held at the M.E. Church, Tuesday, at 2 o'clock p.m. All but he of the children had left the yard, so it is reported, supposing the fire was out, and no one was present at the time his clothes caught fire while playing in the embers, it is thought, resulting in his left arm and left side being badly burned when he was first discovered endeavoring to reach the house. This is the second death in this family in the past six months, both of an untimely character and Mr. and Mrs. Cox are to be deeply sympathized with, in their hour of sorrow.
