Henry Knowles, of Kirkpatrick, who has been visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Johnston of Cherry Street, was found dead in the barn at the rear of the Johnston home shortly before 8 o'clock this morning. Death was due to heart trouble, and the fatal attack came while the man was on an errand to the barn.

The deceased was 67 years of age last November. He came to this city a few days ago to visit his daughter, who has been quite ill. For the past few months he has been suffering from heart trouble, but has complained but little. He retired early, Thursday evening, saying that he felt much better than he had during the few days preceding. Shortly after 6 o'clock this morning, he arose and went to the barn, and his death is believed to have followed within a few minutes after his arrival. When Mr. Johnston arose, he prepared his own meal, and left the house as his father-in-law was accustomed to waiting to eat with the other members of the family.

Miss Metta Ramer, who has been caring for Mrs. Johnston, carried some papers to the barn, shortly before 8 o'clock and discovered the body of Mr. Knowles. The coroner was called and pronounced death due to heart trouble.

The deceased spent nearly all his life near Kirkpatrick. He was very well known throughout the various counties surrounding his home. For some time he has been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. C.L. Baker, of Kirpatrick. He has been a widower for 30 years. His mother died but 4 weeks ago. One sister, Mrs. George Roberts, of this city, and 7 children survive. The children are Mrs. L.C. Baker and Floyd Knowles, of Kirkpatrick; Earl Knowles of Seattle, WA; Mrs. Myron Kennedy, Mrs. Harry Johnston, Mrs. Ollie Schneider and Claude Knowles, of this city.

The funeral will be held from the home of Dr. L.C. Baker, of Kirkpatrick, Sunday, and interment will be made in Miller Cemetery.
