Max Emil Guse, 87, of 210 Mary St., Mayville, died Thursday evening, Feb. 15, 1979, at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1891, at Theresa, a son of the late Gustav and Louisa Schultz Guse. He married Ella Derge in 1912, and she died in 1923. In August of 1925, he married Hertha A. Zierbel at Kekoskee.
Mr. Guse was a retired superintendent of the City of Mayville Water Department and was employed aby the Mayville School System for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Mayville and Lutheran Brotherhood.
Survivors include his wife; two daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Lorella) Justman of Theresa and Mrs. Carl (Mildred) Olson of Mayville; 25 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Two stepsons, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mayville. Pastor Merill Herder will officiate, and burial will be in Kekoskee Cemetery.
Friends of Mr. Guse may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and at the church from noon Sunday until the time of services.
