Mrs. Martha I. Kroncke, age 85, died on Thursday, August 15, 1985 in a Sun Prairie nursing home after a long Illness. She was born in Sun Prairie on July 22, 1900, the daughter of Dr. Earl C. and Irene (Gove) Cobb. Dr. Earl Cobb was one of the first practicing dentists in Sun Prairie. Mrs. Kroncke was a member of the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church and the Colonial Club. She was the beloved mother of one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie (George) Gilmour of Seattle, WA; one son, Mr. David (Ida) Brown of Dallas, TX; one step-son, Dr. George (Mary Jane) Kroncke of Madison; two brothers, Vernon Cobb of Marshall and Rollin Cobb of Owensboro, KY; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold Kroncke; four sisters, Elsie (Cobb) Atwater, Gladys (Cobb) Dahl, Madge (Cobb) Hillenbrand and Mary (Cobb) Dott. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17,1985 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church with the Rev. Samuel Batt officiating. Burial will be in the Sun Prairie City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Tuschen Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. of Sun Prairie from 11:00 a.m. until noon and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund to be established In Mrs. Kroncke's name at the Sun Prairie Colonial Club. WSJ 8/17/1985
