Rodney D. Waterman, 37, Hawarden, died suddenly Saturday, April 28,1990 in the Hawarden Community hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Baptist church in Hawarden. The Rev. Burl Ratzch officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery in Hawarden, under direction of the Porter-Dow funeral home.

Mr. Waterman was born Dec. 19, 1952 at Hawarden. He attended West Sioux Schools. He married Sue Horton, a former Akron resident, May 20,1972 at Alcester, S.D. They lived in Hawarden, where he worked for the city in its natural gas department. He was an active member of the Hawarden fire department, a model airplane hobbyist, and enjoyed trapping and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; a son, Adam, and a daughter, Wendy at home; five brothers, Dennis of North Sioux City, S.D., Bruce and Terry, both of Hawarden, and Larry and David, both of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Daisy (Strong) Waterman and two brothers, Richard and Darvin.
