Mrs. Wayne Hedden, 61, of Hawarden died Saturday, Nov. 13 in a Sioux City Hospital following a brief illness.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church at Hawarden. The Rev. Lee Christopherson officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home.
A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hedden, the former Daisy Strong, was born May 20, 1921 in Union County, SD. She married Wayne Waterman June 2, 1939. Mr. Waterman died Dec. 1, 1964. She married Wayne Hedden May 21,1977 at Hawarden. She lived in the Hawarden area all of her life and was an active member of the First Baptist Church here.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Darvin.
Survivors include her husband; six sons, Dennis and David, both of Sioux City, Bruce, Larry, Terry and Rodney, all of Hawarden; three step-daughters, Mrs. Garrit (Sharon) Van Noort and Mrs. Gary (Kimberly) Albers of Hawarden, and Mrs. Gary (Donna) Hendricks of Bode, Iowa; four step-sons, Wayne Jr., of Waco, Texas, Kerry of Remsen, Iowa, Kirby and Kody of Hawarden; two brothers, Lloyd Sr. and Harry Strong of Hawarden; four sisters, Fern Hofteaser of Sioux Falls, Mildred Strong of Le Mars, Madeline Harn of Phoenix, Ariz., and Pearl Mann of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
