Josiah was Father to 12 children. He moved from Eau Claire, WI to Wetaskiwin, Alberta and on to Ranfurly, Alberta, Canada at the turn of the century settling on a homestead a few miles south of the present town of Ranfurly where Josiah and Adella raised their children and owned a sheep ranch and lumber yard. Josiah was also an Agent for Imperial Oil Co. In 1927, they moved to Tillamook, OR with their sons Claude and Darrell and daughter Ethel and her daughter Dorothy then moved on to North Bend, OR.
