In 1918, on July 31, Mother had her 6th child, her first daughter. About 5 months later, when her youngest son Frederick was not quite 2.5 yrs, Fred died. Story was passed down of 4.5 yr old brother John being tasked with watching his toddler younger brother. Fred's clothing caught fire from the stove in an accident where the baby was burned, "shocked" and died, according to his death certificate.
(The mother blamed John for the rest of her life.)
