At one time, H.L. Conn was manager of a grocery store and a bookkeeper. From 1925-27, Conn was president of the Griffin Mercantile Company and for a few months in 1928, manager of the Sterchi-Parker Furniture Company in Bainbrige, Ga. He returned to Canton, GA in Feb. 1928 to work at the Jones Mercantile Company of which he had worked for more than 20 years before leaving Canton.
On December 24, 1901, Homer Lee Conn married Ethel Hogan in Cherokee County (Cherokee County Marriages, Book G., p. 176)
H.L. Conn had his leg amputated in the City Hospital in Bruswick, Glynn County, GA (His brother, Dr. Webb Conn was a physician in that city.). Homer had recovered from the operation but was soon taken ill some months later. He died at his residence in Paducah, Kentucky.
CARD OF THANKS
I wish to thank the many friends and neighbors for their kindness and service rendered in the recent burial of my beloved husband, Homer L. Conn. Also, want to thank Rev. P.A. Turner for his words of consolation, and Jones Mercantile Co., for their wonderful service.
May God's richest blessings rest upon each and everyone is my prayer. Mrs. Homer L. Conn (wife)
