Georgena L. Hale, age 96 of Toronto, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Bolger's Country Club Manor – Steubenville.
Born April 16, 1910 in Six Mile Run Pennsylvania, she is a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Ruth Elizabeth Whitney Blair Sr. She attended the North River Avenue Christian Church in Toronto, and was active in the ladies organization, sewing patchwork quilts for cancer patients. She is retired from the former St. John's Hospital in Steubenville, where she worked as the manager of the gift shop, and spent time as a volunteer with the "Gray Ladies". Georgena loved to read and sew.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hale Sr. whom she married March 2, 1929 and who passed away December 15, 1958. A daughter Audrey L Hale who passed away on March 30, 1936, two brothers; Seibert Blair and Samuel A. Blair Jr. and a Granddaughter Dawna Churchman who passed away in May of 2004.
She is survived by a son, Bill Hale and his wife Judy of Toronto; a daughter Mrs. Pat Barz and her husband Lee of Stratton; sister Mrs. Margaret Isenberg of Huntingdon, Pa. Brother William Blair and his wife Barbara of Huntingdon, Pa. Four Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, and Three Great Great Grandchildren.
