ROBERT LEE - Alfred B. Harmon, 79, of Robert Lee died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in The Grand Court in San Angelo.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in the Robert Lee Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Paul Terry officiating. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home.

Alfred was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Coke County, Texas. He married Ethel Alice Counts on June 15, 1942, in San Angelo. Alfred had been a resident of Coke County most all of his life.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force. He was a pipe fitter for Union Local 211 in Houston before his retirement in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas R. Harmon and Amanda Elvira Sparks Harmon; a sister, Ruby Lee Blair; and three brothers, Cortez Harmon, Crowley Harmon and FINIS HARMON.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Harmon of Robert Lee; a son, Nick Harmon and wife, Kim, of League City; a sister, Inez Harmon Humm of Robert Lee; and five brothers, Floyd Harmon and J.D. Harmon, both of Robert Lee, his twin, Alf Harmon of San Angelo, Milton ``Bill'' Harmon of Waxahachie and Randle Harmon of San Angelo.

Five grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers, Kristen Bitzer, Michael Bitzer, Cody Harmon, Amanda Blair and Beau Blair.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of San Angelo.

It was Alfred's request that no ties be worn to the services.
