ETHEL A. (COUNTS) HARMON, 84, was called home by her Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2007, just in time to be reunited with her husband Alfred to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary the next day. Funeral arrangements are through Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee, with graveside services at 11 a.m. in the Robert Lee Cemetery on Saturday, June 16, 2007. Ethel was born in Coke County on the Divide on November 9, 1922 to Alvin and Annie (McCabe) Counts. She grew up on the family ranch, and attended school in Water Valley. She married Alfred B. Harmon of Robert Lee on June 15, 1942, and was a homemaker and lifelong companion to her husband until his death in 2000. She moved to Friendswood, TX in 2003 to be near her son's family, and spent the last few years of her life making friends and living under the wonderful and compassionate care of a loving staff (Nicole, we love you!) at Summerville of Friendswood. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, her brothers and sisters C.A. "Doc" Counts, J.Q. Counts, James Counts, Melba Posey, and Lucille Cathey. She is survived by her son, Nick Harmon, and his wife Kim of League City, five grandchildren Cody Harmon, Kristal Bitzer and Michael Bitzer of League City, and Amanda Blair and Beau Blair of Robert Lee, brothers Dennis Counts and wife Viola of San Angelo, Logan Counts and wife Billie Jean of Castlerock, Colo., and Lloyd Counts and wife Shirley of Arlington, TX.
