Eunice M. Oedewaldt, 83, of 5618 Pfeiffer Rd. Bartonville, IL passed away Thursday September 9, 2010 at 10:10pm at Bel-Wood Nursing Home, Peoria. She was born December 8, 1926 on a Centennial Farm in Peoria, where she lived throughout her life, to George "Ellis" and Anna (Graber-Meyer-Keller) Rosenbohm. She married Roy Oedewaldt on July 1, 1950 in East St. Louis. He survives, along with four sons; Roger (Terri Dooley) Oedewaldt of Washington, David (Diane) Oedewaldt of Bartonville, Dennis (Lisa) Oedewaldt of Roanoke and Richard ( Brenda) Oedewaldt of Tremont, one daughter, Ann Oedewaldt of Bartonville. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; Nathan (Amanda), Anthony (Nichole), Patrick (Rachel), Cathy (Rob) Mayer, Christopher, Ryan, Stephen, Cynthia and Nichole. Three great-grandchildren; Caleb, Liam, and Braxton and all the extended ones she loved and they called her mom #2. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Scott and one sister, Adeline. Eunice was a teacher at Tyng School and was a farmer. She graduated from Bradley University with a teacher's certificate. She attended the Bartonville Christian Church. She was a member of Oak Grove PTA, Manual Honors Society, Bradley Distinctive Senior List, YWCA, Birthday Club and enjoyed gardening and farming. Services will be held Monday September 13 at 11:30 at the Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Bartonville. Visitation will be from Sunday afternoon from 1-4:00pm. Rev. Jack Thompson will be officiating. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Mapleton. Memorials may be sent to the Rural Peoria County Council on Aging. Online condolences may be made at www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com. Mom said, "The early years of my life were very fruitful. When I married I dedicated my life to being a good homemaker and the best possible mother I knew how to be."
