W.M. COOK

A great shock to our town and the community at large was the sudden death Monday afternon at 1:30 o'clock of Walter M. Cook.

Mr. Cook has suffered an attack of neuralgia of the heart and had been confined to his home since. No one realized his immediate danger.

He had enjoyed the noon lunch and spoke of looking forward to the evening meal. He was handed a drink by his little grandson, Mertson Austin, and sank back on his pillows in his last long sleep.

Funeral services were conducted at the Tabernacle Wednesday morning in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful. They spoke th elove and esteem in which Mr. Cook was held by those who had known him from childhood.

Mr. Cook was a carpenter and contractor and had assisted in the building of Frankston pretty homes. He was not only known for doing his work well, but he was liked for his pleasant manner and for his desire to please.

Mr. Cook for the past several years has been manager of the Park Theatre. He and his brother, Webster Cook, who preceded him less than a year ago.

The deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. M. J. Austin of Palestine, Mrs. Tom Billingsley of levelland and Mrs. Eugene Menge of Frankston. Several grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Luke Clakeley of Frankston and Mrs. Albert Bailey of Mountain Air, New Mexico; three brothers, Wade, Warner and Ben Cook all of Dallas.

Rev. Buttrill of Palestine, Rev.'s Cagle and Hughes, of Frankston paid beautiful tribute to the life of Mr. Cook. Rev. Hughes spoke of life as "a vapor that soon vanishes away. Death is only a cycle that cuts the grass down. This world is only an anti-room for making preparation for the world to come," he said.

Songs sweetly sung by the choir were:

"What a Friend We Have in Jesus", "When They Ring Those Golden Bells", and "We Shall Gather at the River".
