Elizabeth Sue ASHBY Wolfe was born Feb. 19, 1871, the eighth child of Bladen and Elizabeth FOSTER Ashby. She married George M. Wolfe, a dentist, in 1903 and they had two sons, William and Edgar. Sue's mother Elizabeth, lived with them in Ottawa, Kansas until she passed away in 1905. Sue and George lived in Ottawa for many years. They lived in Eudora, Kansas during World War II. Over the years, Sue painted many lovely oil paintings, water colors and china dishes.
