William Franklin Ashby, born Sept. 20, 1858, was the third of ten children of Bladen and Elizabeth FOSTER Ashby. He was their first child born in Kansas.

William married Alice Arizonia GALLIHER on July 8, 1885. They had two children. Alice died in 1893.

William married Minnie Belle GARVIN in 1895. They had five children.
