Wallace was married to Ruth 1947. They divorced, preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Louis Sellers.

Wallace "Wally" R. Sellers, a Silver City, NM, resident, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Wally was born September 22, 1924, in Pancake, Texas, to Albert J. Sellers and Esker B. (Grant) Sellers.


Wally moved to Silver City in 1947. He worked for Barry Electric from 1947 to 1966 and managed the Silco Theaters from 1949 to 1 963. He retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation as an electrician in 1983. He was owner of Wally's Electric from 1967 until his death. He was a member of the Gila Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for many years and an active member of the First United Methodist Church. Wally was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.


Cremation will take place in Deming. A memorial service was held Sunday, November 3, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.


He is survived be his wife, Mary, of the home; sons, Robert R. Sellers and his companion Louise Abreu of Silver City, Joe E. Sellers and his wife Kim of Silver City; daughters, Debra Ann Murphy of Santa Fe and Nancy K. Martinez and her husband Frank of High Rolls, New Mexico; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Roberta Miller and her husband John, who was thought of as a daughter by Wally and Mary; and a sister, Fleta Young of Jonesboro, Texas.


Wally was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David L. Sellers in March 2000; three brothers, Tommy, Harmon and Lawrence Sellers; and three sisters, Thelma Baize, Mabel Haimes and Ellie Liles.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 300 W. College Avenue, Silver City, New Mexico 88061 ; and The Southwest Christian Center, Gila, New Mexico.
