Lawrence Edgar Sellers, 74, of Evant died Tuesday, June 8, at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 10, at the Evant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Jones and Rev. Hollis Yeilding officiating. Burial was at the Jonesboro Cemetery.Mr. Sellers was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Pancake, the son of Albert J. and Esker Blendon Grant Sellers. He married Dorothy Irene Roebuck July 20 1942, at Hamilton. He worked as a painter and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Evant. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Evant; two daughters, Neta Dean Conner and Irene Standard; three sons, John R. Sellers, Paul Gene Sellers, and Jimmy Sellers; three sisters, Thelma Baize, Fleta Young, and Ellie Liles; a brother, Wallace Sellers ; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
