Frank Fearmonti, Jr., 82, passed away, Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.
He was born January 15, 1928, to Frank and Josephine (Veltri) Fearmonti of Ringo, KS and attended Girard Schools.
He had been a resident of the area his entire life.
He served four years in the United States Army at Japan and Korea from 1948 to 1952.
He was a member of the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post No. 64 of Pittsburg for fifty years.
He married Wanda Arlene Hush on December 26, 1952, at Bentonville, AR. She survives of the home.
He was also a member of the Countryside Christian Church.
He worked for KCS Railroad, Pittsburg City Fire Department and McNally Manufacturing, retiring in 1989.
Survivors include one daughter Terri Wood, two sons, Frank M. Fearmonti and James C. Fearmonti all of Pittsburg, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Albert, Tony, James, and Amo and three sisters, Frances Doue Pronier, Mary Grano and Dorothy Fioramonti.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2010, at the Brenner Mortuary with Rev. Dan Muter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg.
The Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post No. 64 of Pittsburg will conduct the flag folding ceremony.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday.
The family suggests memorial be given to the Countryside Christian Church.
