Mrs. Lucinda Abbett (nee Prock), wife of John Abbett, died Thursday afternoon, March 27, 1941 at the home in Iberia at the age of 81 years. She had been a resident of Miller County all her life and was an aunt of probate judge C.M. Abbett of Tuscumbia.
Lucinda Sedonia Abbott, daughter of John and Elizabeth Prock, was born near Iberia, October 20, 1860. She entered into rest at her home in Iberia Thursday, March 27, 1941, at the age of 80 years, five months and 7 days. On September 16, 1880, she was married to John R. Abbott and to them nine children were born, two of whom preedeed the mother in death, one in infancy and Burley who died about four years ago.
Surviving are her husband and seven children; Late of Stafford, MO, Oliver of Iberia, Oscar of Oklahoa, Otto of Crocker, Mrs. Harrison Carrol of Crocker, Mrs. Ottie Dickerson of Florida and Mrs. Grace Ransom of Colorado. There are 17 grand children and two great grand children, a host of other relatives and friends. She was a sister of Mrs. John Prock of near Tuscumbia.
About of years age, Mrs. Abbott united with the Christian Church and later about the year 1917, she placed her membership with the Nazarene Church and at the time of her death was a member of the Iberia Nazarene Church. She was a good Christian woman, wife and mother and was loved and respected by everyone. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Adams & Casey Funeral Parlor at Iberia by Rev. Burd, paster of the Nazarene Church at Iberia. Interment was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of Adams & Casey.
