Ransom Hatch was born in Farmersville, New York, on 13 Nov 1826 or 1827 (sources conflict), to Mother: Wealtha BRADFORD -Hatch. He later moved with his family to Nauvoo, Illinois, and went to Utah about 1850. He was baptized into the LDS Church in 1842. He first married Frances Elizabeth Atkinson (born in New Brunswick, Canada, 1836) in December 1854, then Lavern Bidwell (born in Farmersville, New York, 1833) in the summer of 1856, and Emma Ford (born in England in 1842) in 1863. Ransom Hatch had large families with all three of his "plural" wives. He shares a grave marker with his first wife; his second wife is buried next to them; and his third wife is buried nearby. Ransom Hatch (through his mother, Welthea Bradford) is a descendant of Governor William Bradford of Plymouth Colony who came on the Mayflower in 1620.
