Lillie Pearl (Puckett) Napier, 94, of 368 Napier Lane, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2004, at her residence. She was born Sept. 27, 1909, in Nellysford, the daughter of the late Luther Leonard and Nannie Beatrice Thompson Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wintergreen Christian Church, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship. She loved the outdoors, gardening and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sir Cashus Napier; a son, Massie Lee Napier; a sister, Hilda Sprouse; two brothers, Chesley and Arthur Puckett; and a step-grandson, Carlton Patterson. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Norman and Marie Napier of Nellysford, Frank and Patricia Napier of Nellysford, Roy and Nancy Napier of Waynesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Fred Reid of Nellysford; a sister, Irene Thompson of Nellysford; 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at the Wintergreen Christian Church by Pastors Ernie Love, Carlton Ballowe and Gary Beasley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be family, friends and members of the church attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro and other times at the residence of her children.
